Closing my Mississippi Brokerage

This morning I wrote in to close my real estate brokerage in Mississippi. I feel incredibly TORN about it. If y’all knew what it took for me to open that office, or the hole I crawled out of after leaving the office before that…. Well, you wouldn’t look at me the same if you really knew.

Real estate has been the absolute biggest blessing. It has allowed my family to check off our goals list much quicker than I anticipated and I am forever grateful for that. It has been the hardest, yet most rewarding thing I have ever done. The people I have met, helped or that have helped me will forever have a spot in my heart.

Real estate however, has also been one of the biggest curses. And now, maybe that has something to do with me being so transparent on social media, but there is a dark side to this industry many don’t talk about.

There is BIG MONEY in real estate (and I’m not talking about what I earned so go away about that.) I’m talking about the people in it. Money holds power, and people will do anything for that. They see you make a human mistake-lawsuit threats. They see you’re out on your own, let’s bully them. The amount of greed, and the amount of backstabbing I have seen, heard of, or experienced is enough to make me want to vomit.

Don’t get me wrong. I love it, but you see people of all sorts when big money is involved. I never really spoke about this before. But people will use what they spend, what they bought, or what they make to try to hold power over you. I’ve seen it.

But, that’s all stuff we don’t want to talk about now isn’t it.

Anywho, I am very grateful for those who have supported me. While I will no longer be selling real estate in Mississippi (other that the vast amount of land we have for sale) I have an AMAZING network to help you, so if you had planned to use me, please still reach out. I would be happy to connect you with an agent I feel best suited.
