Back to Wisconsin

When we finally made the decision to move back to Wisconsin, we also had to figure out what we were going to do career wise.

I did a great job establishing myself on the Gulf Coast as a Realtor and as a Property Manager, but it took time. So, knowing we were essentially starting over I began to think of what might interest me. Obviously real estate is top in that, but if you’ve been watching and reading for a bit, you know marketing is my jam. It goes hand in hand with what I do in real estate, and the way I used it to brand myself is how I got to where I am now in my career.

So, while simultaneously looking for a new brokerage in Wisconsin, I began to look at careers and jobs that got me excited. I wasn’t really sure what I would find. The job market is a literal crap shoot right now, but I was surprised when positions I thought I was under qualified for (most were seeking someone with a degree, that I do not have) were calling me back.

I had the opportunity to meet with several amazing small business owners, heads of companies, and hiring managers. I heard of their struggles, and needs, and found myself wanting one position in particular. I didn’t quite expect it, but as I continued the interview process I got so into the position. It was everything I didn’t even realize I wanted. All of the best aspects of what I do now in one spot. So, when they offered me the position, I couldn’t say no.

Monday, I began my position and journey as Brand Ambassador at Mid-West Family in Madison. I will be seeking to help large corporations with their marketing plans, to ultimately improve their sales and conversions.

I will still be doing real estate, just won’t be focusing on such a high production level right now. Instead I’m going to try this whole work/life balance I’ve heard people talk about, but never experienced. Family>career.
